Bright Beginnings has five different age groups, each with distinct developmental milestones. Our educators work with your child to develop movement skills, language, cognitive learning, fine motor skills as well as healthy social and emotional behaviour.
In addition to daily updates from interaction with our staff, parents will also receive quarterly developmental report cards to track their child's progress.
Shining Stars; 6-15 months
As your child starts the second half of their first year, they enter into the "doing" stage. From 8 to 12 months of age, your baby will become increasingly mobile, giving your child a sense of power and control - his/her first real taste of physical independence. The cogitative progression from 6 to 12 months is huge, and aids in other areas of development - such as movement, language and social skills.
Zoo; 16-24 Months
Your baby enters his/her second year and becomes a toddler and is now crawling vigorously, starting to walk, and even talking a little. Exploring the boundaries established by your rules and their own physical and developmental limits will occupy much of his/her time for the next few years.
Jungle; 2-3 years
Because of your child’s growing desire to be independent, this stage is often called the "terrible 2s." Toddlers will experience huge thinking, learning, social, and emotional changes during this time that will help them to explore their new world, and make sense of it.
Canucks; 3-4 years:
With your child’s 3rd birthday, the “terrible 2s” are officially over and the “magic years” of 3 and 4 begin - a time when your child’s world will be dominated by fantasy and vivid imagination
Critters; 4-5 years:
Before you know it, the somewhat calm child of 3 becomes a dynamo of energy, drive, bossiness, belligerence, and generally out-of-bounds behavior. Also obvious during this time is the tremendous spurt of imaginative ideas that spring from children’s minds and mouths. All of this behavior and thinking will help your youngster build a secure foundation as he/she emerges into the world of kindergarten.
Health & Nutrition
Bright Beginnings has a full kitchen on site and a chef who prepares two healthy snacks and lunch each day. We follow the Canada Food Guide to ensure children are receiving proper nutrition and developing healthy eating habits early in life. We can accommodate any dietary or allergy requirements.
